A hurricane strikes. A medical report does not come back like you hoped. A pandemic hits. A job is lost. We have and will all face difficult times.
Fortunately, we serve a God who knows and controls all things. He sees us. And understands our hardship better than we do.
When you are facing difficult times, here are some verses to remember:
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us. – Romans 8:18
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand. – Isaiah 41:10
You will keep the mind that is dependent on you in perfect peace, for it is trusting in you. Trust in the Lord forever, because in the Lord, the Lord himself, is an everlasting rock! – Isaiah 26:3-4
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is near the brokenhearted; he saves those crushed in spirit. – Psalm 34:17-18
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God. – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory. So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. – 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope. This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. – Romans 5:3-5
Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for you are with me; your rod and your staff—they comfort me. – Psalm 23:4
The Lord is a refuge for the persecuted, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you because you have not abandoned those who seek you, Lord. – Psalm 9:9-10
The Lord is the one who will go before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or abandon you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.” – Deuteronomy 31:8
The Lord is near all who call out to him, all who call out to him with integrity. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry for help and saves them. – Psalm 145:18-19
Even in difficult times, you can trust God. He knows. He is in control.
